Jaina,
Right now we are trying to navigate the year through Covid. It hasn't been easy. Your school year was basically disrupted and we all had to find new ways to move forward. Lot's happened that, no doubt, made you worry about stuff--but we have to stay hopeful. You probably went through a lot of stuff watching me go through a lot, but God is good and we have all healed. Things are still up in the air. You had some school events get cancelled with no decisions one way or another whether they are going to be rescheduled. 8th grade is up in the air as well. We may have to go to remote learning and take all your classes online, but we can do it.
Our summer has been quiet with no camps to keep us busy. Over the years you have become quite the athlete. You tried your hand at soccer, running, swimming and gymnastics. You have played on teams and you have won swim meets. You blow me away. I wonder if this is a talent you get from your birth parents? You are a bundle of energy. You are silly and moody, careful and blasé. You are the typical tweenie entering her 13th year and rediscovering herself. I just wish you weren't so guarded and private. I hope that one day you can open up and ask me the questions you need answers to.
Happy Adoption Day, Jaina!
